According to an article from Wicked Local, Locales Tacos y Tequila is planning to open in Hingham, taking over the former Crow's Landing space on Crow Point Lane just off Route 3A. Brian McLaughlin, who is behind the upcoming dining spot, says that it will be a "laid back, Baja California-style taqueria" that focuses on crispy tacos and tequila drinks. (McLaughlin also runs Seabird Coffee & Co. in Cohasset and had previous been behind several Mexican spots in the San Francisco area.) If all goes well, Locales Tacos y Tequila could be opening late next month.
Both the Wicked Local article and a recent Hingham Anchor post indicate that Locales Tacos y Tequila could focus on takeout initially--even if restaurant restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic are lifted by the time it opens--and that the place will ultimately "have a strong focus on outdoor dining" during the warmer months, according to McLaughlin.
Crow's Landing, which has been shuttered for awhile, had first opened in the space in the fall of 2013.
The address for this brand new Mexican restaurant in Hingham is: Locales Tacos y Tequila, 6 Crow Point Lane, Hingham, MA, 02043.
[July 21, 2021 update: An episode within The Hingham Cast plus some updated information given to us indicates that Locales Tacos y Tequila has been doing popups on site, and it is now ready to open its doors, with a lunch popup taking place tomorrow at 11:00 AM and full-service dinner at 5:00 PM.]
