According to a poster within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page, Armsby Abbey on Main Street is closing for the time being, with a Facebook post from the place saying the following:
It is with grateful hearts we announce Armsby Abbey will be closing temporarily for the Summer on Sunday, June 21st at 4pm. We've done everything right. We built an iconic restaurant from scratch. We are recognized around the world for our beer selection. We had 12+ years of proven growth. Enter Covid....We laid off 30 of our employees. And while we were able to maintain 40-45% of our pre-pandemic sales until Memorial Day, we have since been operating at 20-25%. Now that the state re-opened outdoor dining, which Armsby Abbey can’t facilitate due to its location, and school is out for the Summer, our sales have dropped below 10% of our pre-pandemic sales....Please know this Summer closing is indeed temporary and by no means permanent....See you September 1st for an epic Labor Day celebration!
Armsby Abbey is known in part for its extensive selection of beers, including being the only place in Massachusetts to offer Hill Farmstead beers on a regular basis; it also offers a variety of comfort food dishes as well.
The address for Armsby Abbey is 144 Main Street, Worcester, MA, 01608. Its website can be found at https://armsbyabbey.com/
