Proposal to Replace Blue Dragon in Boston's Fort Point with Cannabis Establishment to Be Looked at Next Month

Last year, it was reported that a dispensary was apparently interested in moving into the space that was home to a restaurant with a celebrity chef behind it. Now we have learned that these plans seem to be moving forward.

According to a source, a virtual meeting is slated for September 14 that will look at a proposal to replace Blue Dragon in Boston's Fort Point area with a cannabis establishment, with a notice within the city's website confirming this, giving the address of the restaurant while not specifically mentioning it. Last September, an article here had stated that a retail cannabis shop called Keltic Green was looking to take over the space, though it is not known if that is still the business that is interested in taking over the space; at the time of the earlier article, we were also told that any changeover from Blue Dragon to a cannabis shop might take up to two years to happen.

Blue Dragon first opened in 2013, with restaurateur, TV personality, and cookbook author Ming Tsai being behind it. The restaurant, which has been known in part for its tapas dishes with Asian influences, is temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The address for Blue Dragon is 324 A Street, Boston, MA, 02210. Its website can be found at https://www.bluedragonbos.com/
