Squires in Hanover Is Closing

photo of Squires, Hanover, MA.
It looks like a beloved roadside restaurant and bar on the South Shore is shutting its doors.

According to multiple sources, including people within the local restaurant industry along with a Facebook post from local author/writer Jerry Thornton, Squires in Hanover is closing down, with a couple of our sources saying it could be saying farewell as early as this weekend. The Washington Street watering hole has been in business for more than 30 years, offering such items as burgers, pizza, steak tips, macaroni and cheese, wings, and more, along with beer, wine, and spirits. Our sister site (Boston's Hidden Restaurants) has featured Squires as an under-the-radar local favorite to check out, with the review being found below:

The address for Squires is 1202 Washington Street (Route 53), Hanover, MA, 02339. Its website can be found at https://www.squiresofhanover.com/

[August 7 update: A message sent from the place indicates that Squires closes down on Sunday, August 9.]
