Vinotta Is Opening in the Former Red Bird Space in Waltham

A brand new Italian dining spot is on its way to Waltham's "restaurant row," and it will replace an upscale eatery that shut down last summer.

According to a Facebook post from The Waltham Channel, Dante Bellucci of Tartufo Restaurant in Newton Centre is opening Vinotta in the former Red Bird space on Moody Street, with the upcoming restaurant featuring "very simple food made with beautiful organic ingredients" including locally-sourced seafood (and a weekend oyster bar appears to be part of the plans). If all goes well, the new dining spot could be opening sometime this fall.

Red Bird closed sometime around late August or early September of 2019, and at the time, it appeared that the people behind it were looking to reopen it in a new space, though it is not known if this is still the case.

The address for Vinotta is 361 Moody Street, Waltham, MA, 02453. Its website is at https://www.vinotta.com/

[January 12, 2021 update: According to its Facebook page, Vinotta is now open.]
