A few years, ago, an old-school Somerville dining and drinking spot that was known for its pizza closed for good. Now we have learned that its pizza lives on, thanks to a social club in Arlington.
According to the Friends and fans of La Hacienda Restaurant Facebook group page, La Hacienda's pizza is being sold at the Sons of Italy lodge on Prentiss Road, with the pizza currently being available to go on Fridays from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Louis DiCecca, who had been co-owner of the Somerville restaurant and bar, tells us that everyone is indeed welcome to purchase the pizza at the Arlington chapter of the century-old fraternal organization, while also mentioning that the pizza is available on the menu of DiCecca Brothers Catering, which caters events at ALOSIA Function Hall within the Arlington location of the Sons of Italy.
La Hacienda first opened on Medford Street in Somerville back in 1939 and was a popular spot for Italian-American food until closing in 2016.
