Lir in Boston's Back Bay Is Closing for Good

Yet another dining/drinking spot on a stretch of Boylston Street in Boston's Back Bay is shutting down, with this one being a popular Irish pub that had been temporarily closed for several months.

According to a source, Lir is now closed, with a Facebook post from the place confirming this, saying the following:

We are sad to announce that after seventeen years of business we will be closing our doors for good. Since the day we opened we felt a strong connection to the Boston community, and we would like to say thank you to our loyal patrons who stood by us along the way....Our mission has always been to make Lir your home away from home, whether you're Irish, American, or a little bit of both. It pains us to leave you, but we can assure you that these memories will live on.

Lir is just one of a few Boylston Street places to close for good of late, with The Pour House, Whiskey's, and McGreevy's all shutting down permanently over the past several weeks.

The address for the now-closed Lir was 903 Boylston Street, Boston, MA, 02115.
