The people behind two suburban restaurants that are known for their Mexican street food options are looking to open a third, with this one replacing a location of another Mexican spot that quietly closed a few days ago.
According to an article from Wicked Local, La Victoria Taqueria is planning to open in Belmont Center, taking over the space on Leonard Street that was home to a location of El Centro until it shuttered on September 27. If given approval to open, the new location would join others in Arlington and Beverly and would presumably offer the same tortas, tacos, burritos, and more that those restaurants serve.
El Centro has other locations in Boston's South End and Dedham, while another outlet in Brookline Village closed last year.
The address for the new location of La Victoria Taqueria in Belmont Center (and the now-closed El Centro) is 66 Leonard Street, Belmont, MA, 02478. The website for the two existing locations can be found at https://www.victoriataqueria.com/
[February 19, 2021 update: A message sent to us from the restaurant indicates that La Victoria Taqueria is now open in Belmont Center.]
