A longtime Back Bay restaurant appears to be gone for good, as its space is on the market.
According to a source, Kashmir on Newbury Street is shuttered with a photo showing a "For Lease" sign in one of its windows, which seems to confirm what others have told us over the past several weeks, that the dining spot is no longer in business. We have also been told that a dispensary may be looking to move into its space, with an earlier Facebook post from the Neighborhood Association of the Back Bay mentioning that a proposed recreational cannabis establishment was indeed looking at opening there back in October. (We reached out to the people behind Kashmir a few weeks ago about its exact status but did not receive a response.)
Kashmir has been around for close to 30 years, featuring a variety of Indian dishes including vegan and vegetarian options, while also being known for its brick patio.
The address for Kashmir was 279 Newbury Street, Boston, MA, 02116.
