A pair of restaurants known for their specialty pizzas will be temporarily shutting down one of their locations as the pandemic continues to wreak havoc throughout the restaurant industry.
According to a Facebook post from Steve Kurland of Za in Cambridge and Arlington, the Cambridge location (in Kendall Square) is getting ready to close for now, with the post saying the following:
Za in Cambridge will be pausing operations (the word "hibernating" sounds too cute for such a painful decision). Our final day in 2020 will be December 23rd. Za in Arlington will remain open. Ultimately, pausing now will allow us to reopen when the time is right. We hung in there as long as we could and we appreciate the outpouring of support from our guests and the incredible performance of our staff.
Kurland--who is also behind Evoo in Kendall Square --goes on to thank The City of Cambridge and the Kendall Square Association and Cambridge Local First who have been "tremendously helpful" during this time, along with the restaurant's workers and customers, saying at the end of the post to "Please consider using our Arlington location for takeout and delivery and, if you are looking for ways to help us or other restaurants, please continue to patronize all of us in any way you can and to back programs that will aid in small business recovery."
The address for Za in Kendall Square is 350 Third Street, while the address for the Arlington location is 138 Massachusetts Avenue. (The website for both can be found at https://zarestaurant.com/)
