Ken Oringer, Jamie Bissonnette Plan to Open Faccia Brutta and Bar Pallino in the Back Bay

[Ed note: This article was updated on February 9. 2022 to reflect a name given to the place--and information on a bar coming to the space as well.]

A couple of big local names are teaming up once again to open a restaurant, with this one being in the city's Back Bay area.

According to an article from The Boston Sun, Ken Oringer (Coppa, Little Donkey, Toro, Uni) and Jamie Bissonnette (Coppa, Little Donkey, Toro) are planning to open a mid-range Italian restaurant on Newbury Street that would focus on seafood items. The proposed spot--which does not yet have a name--will reside in a former retail space between Fairfield Street and Gloucester Street and will have a dining area and bar along with two outdoor patios, while the hope is it would also have a full liquor license.

Oringer and Bissonnette's restaurants have won a number of awards over the years, with each also winning a James Beard Award for Best Chef: Northeast (Oringer in 2001 and Bissonnette in 2014).

The address for the upcoming restaurant from Oringer and Bissonnette is 276-278 Newbury Street, Boston, MA, 02116.

Thanks to Universal Hub for bringing this to our attention.

[March 4, 2022 update: According to a post within the jobs section of the bostonchefs.com site, the new restaurant from Ken Oringer and Jamie Bissonnette will be called Faccia Brutta, and a natural wine bar called Bar Pallino will be located in the lower level of the space. (An article from boston.com indicates that both plan to open sometime this spring.)]

[May 17, 2022 update: The Boston Globe states that Faccia Brutta plans to open on May 24.]
