A restaurant/bar space in MetroWest that has seen its share of trouble over the years could soon be home to a new dining spot.
According to an article in the MetroWest Daily News, a new restaurant is going to be opening in the space in Framingham that had been home to Beacon Street Bar & Grill (and later, a rebranding to The Beacon), and before that, Angry Ham's, though no name has been given for the new place as of yet, nor is it known who the owner is. The post says that the restaurant plans to open after April once renovations are complete and its liquor license is presumably approved.
Both Beacon Street Bar & Grill/The Beacon and Angry Ham's (the latter of which included former Boston Bruins player Lyndon Byers as a partner) were the site of incidents that led to suspensions, even though the former tried to clean up the image of the old Angry Ham's by being more of a family-friendly place. In the article, Marlene Aron, senior associate broker at Southborough-based MetroWest Commercial Real Estate, says that "The new restaurant will be nothing like Angry Ham's, which was loud and out of control."
The address for the upcoming restaurant in the former Beacon/Angry Ham's space will be 2 Beacon Street, Framingham, MA, 01701.
