A growing local group of fast-casual Mexican restaurants could be opening its first location within the Boston city limits.
According to a tweet from @cambridgegirl, Santa Fe Burrito Grill is planning to open in East Boston, with a post from the East Boston Times-Free Press indicating that the proposed eatery is looking at the space on Sumner Street in Jeffries Point that had once been home to 303 Cafe. If approved, the new location of Santa Fe would join others in Weymouth and Franklin along with a new outlet coming to Melrose.
The space that Santa Fe Burrito Grill is eyeing was also going to be home to a restaurant called The Retreat, but it appears that those plans ended up falling through.
