A takeout spot in the northern suburbs that is known for its Italian and American dishes is moving to a new home this fall, and it will no longer be just a takeout spot.
According to a source, The Green Tomato in Reading has found a new space and will be moving from its current home on High Street a few hundred feet east to Gould Street, where it will have a new storefront with seating. A picture sent to us indicates that the dining spot will also offer Mediterranean fare as well, while vegetarian and vegan options will be available.
The Green Tomato, which first opened in 2003, offers such items as chicken marsala, eggplant parmigiana, veal piccata, shrimp scampi, chicken pot pie, meatball subs, and roast turkey.
The current address for The Green Tomato is 42 High Street in Reading while its new address will be 24 Gould Street. Its website can be found at https://www.thegreentomatokitchen.com/
