A longtime Mexican restaurant in Cambridge is getting ready to shut down, though it could be reborn in a new location.
According to an article from Cambridge Day, Jose's on Sherman Street is closing its doors, with a Facebook post from the place saying the following:
It is the end of an era! We are sorry to share the news that Jose's will be closing at the end of August. It has been our greatest pleasure to serve this community and your neighborhood for over twenty years, but the time has come for us to close our doors at our present location. We are looking for a new location and look forward to starting a new chapter in Jose's ongoing story and hope to reopen sooner than later.
The note refers customers to Jose's Torta Mexicana in Arlington for both dining and catering.
Back in the fall of 2019, it appeared that Jose's was going to be closing due to an issue with parking, but that issue seemed to go away and it remained in operation.
The address for Jose's Mexican Restaurant in Cambridge is 131 Sherman Street, Cambridge, MA, 02140.
