[Ed note: This article was updated on December 9 to reflect more information given on the restaurant, including a name change.]
A neighborhood restaurant in Cambridge that was known for its Italian dishes may be replaced by a new dining spot.
According to an article from Cambridge Day, a restaurant tentatively called Barca is planning to open on Shepard Street in the space that has been home to Luce since early 2019. The post mentions that Michael Pagliarini and Pamela Ralston, the husband-and-wife team behind the nearby Giulia, would be behind the new restaurant; Pagliarini and Ralston had also operated Benedetto within The Charles Hotel until it lost its lease this spring.
The space in which the new dining spot is planning to open had also been home to Shepard, and before that, Chez Henri.
The address for the proposed new restaurant (and the former Luce) is 1 Shepard Street, Cambridge, MA, 02138.
[December 9 update: Cambridge Day states that the new dining spot will now be called Moeca and that it will focus on seafood, and if all goes as planned, it could be opening in March of 2022.]
