The people behind a Mexican eatery just north of Boston will be opening a new location nearby.
According to a source (Tom from Danvers), signs are now up for Esquite Taqueria on North Shore Road in Revere, with the address indicating that it will be taking over the space that had been home to Larry J's BBQ Cafe. In a recent Revere Journal article, Emiliano Moreno of the original Esquite on Shirley Avenue said in a License Commission hearing that "Following the success of our restaurant on Shirley Ave., we're looking to expand our business, focusing on take-out during the pandemic....We'll be following the model of taquerias in New York City. Our present restaurant closes at 9:00 and we're looking to provide food for those who want to eat later....We'll still be a family-oriented business; There'll be no alcohol." The Shirley Avenue location of Esquite first opened in 2020, with the people behind it also running a food truck operation called Eloti.
Another location of Larry J's remains in operation in Boston's Seaport District.
