Spicket River Brewery in Lawrence Is Closing, Moving Out of Massachusetts

A brewery in the Merrimack Valley is saying farewell to its current location, and it will apparently be reborn outside of the state.

According to a Facebook post from the business, Spicket River Brewery in Lawrence is leaving its Island Road space, with the post saying the following:

It is with mixed emotions that I announce the closing of Spicket River Brewery's current location....We are not closing our doors permanently; instead, we are relocating outside of Massachusetts to a vibrant new location. Here, I am excited to continue our journey and open a new space that embodies the true spirit and excellence Spicket River Brewery stands for.

The post does mention a dispute as being a root cause, saying that this has "made staying untenable."

Spicket River Brewery first opened its facility in the fall of 2019, residing on a small island between the Merrimack River and the North Canal within the North Canal Historic District. Its website can be found at https://spicketriver-brewery.com/

Spicket River Brewery Is Opening in Lawrence

Another new brewery is on its way to the local area, and this one will be located in an historic mill complex that's actually on an island.

Eater Boston is reporting that Spicket River Brewery is planning to open in Lawrence, with an earlier Facebook post from the place indicating that it will reside within the Island Street Studios at Union Crossing, which is located on a small island between the Merrimack River and the North Canal and is part of the North Canal Historic District. Eater and the brewery's Facebook page mention that the Spicket River is setting up a tap truck and mobile kitchen for events as the brewery gets ready to open, with the grand opening of the brewery--which will also have a taproom--being slated for July 13.

The address for this new brewery in Lawrence is: Spicket River Brewery, 56 Island Road, Lawrence, MA, 01840. Its website will be at https://www.spicketriverbrewery.com/
