75 on Liberty Wharf Is Opening at Liberty Wharf in Boston

[Ed note: This article was updated to reflect a name change for the restaurant as well as when it might open.]

It looks like a neighborhood restaurant and bar in Boston's Beacon Hill will be opening a new spot at Liberty Wharf in the Seaport District.

A job post on the Craigslist site indicates that a new dining spot is coming to Liberty Wharf, with the post stating that "one of the most recognizable bars in Boston is opening a new restaurant." The post goes on to request that folks who are interested in working at the upcoming place should bring their resumes to 75 Chestnut Street, which happens to be the address of the restaurant 75 Chestnut.

[April 6 update: The person behind 75 Chestnut is also behind Cheers on Beacon Street, which should explain the phrase "one of the most recognizable bars in Boston" that is within the job post. Thanks to Eater Boston for mentioning this.]

[April 9 update: As the poster below indicates, the name of the planned restaurant and bar will be Little Chestnut Boston Harbor. (August 20 update: The name has changed--see note below.) An article from Universal Hub mentions this, along with the fact that the spot would be opening within a vacant kiosk, having just under 1,500 square feet of space and a capacity of 60. The Boston Licensing Board will be taking this up on Wednesday, so stay tuned for further updates.]

[August 20 update: Grub Street Boston reports that the new restaurant will be called "75 on Liberty Wharf," and it may be open sometime in late September.]

[October 16 update: According to their Facebook page, 75 on Liberty Wharf opens tomorrow.]

The new restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner, according to the job post.

75 Chestnut is a restaurant that our sister site (Boston's Hidden Restaurants) has featured as an under-the-radar dining spot that is worth checking out for its upscale comfort food dishes. A review of the place can be found at the link below.

Legal Harborside Opens in Boston's Seaport District

Nearly two years after we first wrote about it, a new restaurant from the folks behind a chain of seafood spots opens today (in a limited capacity for now) along Boston's waterfront.

According to The Boston Globe, Legal Harborside is opening the first floor of its eatery this afternoon at Liberty Wharf in the city's Seaport District. (The second and third floors may be opening sometime next month.) The article mentions that the new restaurant, which is part of the Legal Sea Foods chain, will become the largest restaurant in the city, with 20,000 square feet of space and a capacity of 600. Each floor at Legal Harborside will be different from the others, according to The Globe, with such items as pizza and small plates served on the first floor, and a fish market and catch-and-release trout pond sharing the space. On the second floor will be a higher-end dining area, while the third floor will feature a deck that has a retractable roof, an oyster bar, and an outdoor fireplace.

[May 25 update: According to their Facebook page, the second floor dining area--and patio--at Legal Harborside opens tonight.]

[June 27 update: A note sent to us by the Legal Sea Foods Twitter page indicates that the roof deck at the new Legal Harborside is now open, though only for drinks for the time being (small bites will come in a few weeks). Please note that it is an all-weather roof deck with a retractable glass roof and walls. Currently, hours for the roof deck are 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM Monday through Thursday, and 2:00 PM to 1:00 AM Friday through Sunday.]

The Legal Sea Foods family of restaurants includes locations within Boston at Long Wharf, Park Square, Copley Place, the Prudential Center, and Logan Airport, with another spot called Legal Test Kitchen being in the Seaport District near the new Legal Harborside. A few other Legal Sea Foods can be found in the Boston area as well (including two in Cambridge), and a couple of Legal C Bar restaurants are located at Logan Airport and in Dedham.

The address for this new restaurant in the Seaport District is: Legal Harborside, 242 Northern Avenue (Liberty Wharf), Boston, MA, 02210. The website for the Legal Sea Foods chain can be found at: http://www.legalseafoods.com/ And the website for Liberty Wharf can be found at http://www.libertywharf.co/

Temazcal Tequila Cantina Is Opening at Liberty Wharf in Boston's Seaport District

An upscale Mexican restaurant is planning to open in the Seaport District of Boston, and it will be one of several new dining spots in the immediate area.

According to a poster on Chowhound, a sign for Temazcal Tequila Cantina has been put up at Liberty Wharf, and the sign also mentions a two-time James Beard award winner being involved and 300 tequilas available at the upcoming spot. (The Boston Herald states that Todd Hall, who opened the highly-regarded La Hacienda within the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess hotel in Scottsdale, AZ--and is indeed a two-time James Beard award winner--is behind the place. Hall currently operates the nearby Whiskey Priest.) Two posters on our Hiddenboston Twitter page have confirmed all of this information, with one sending us a photo that shows the sign.

Once it opens (the Herald mentions a possible February opening), Temazcal Tequila Cantina will be one of four restaurants in the Liberty Wharf complex, including new locations of Legal Sea Foods, Jerry Remy's, and Del Frisco's. And the new eatery will be the second Mexican restaurant to come to the general area, as Papagayo recently opened on Summer Street in the nearby Fort Point District of Boston.

[April 14, 2011 update: According to UrbanDaddy, Temazcal Tequila Cantina is opening to the public on Saturday (April 16).]

Liberty Wharf is located near the intersection of Northern Avenue and D Street, just east of the World Trade Center in the heart of the Seaport District. The website is http://www.libertywharf.co/restaurants/temazcal/
