Sara Ross of Kickass Cupcakes Joins the Boston Herald Blog Team

Last month, we told you that three well-known people within the Boston restaurant scene started blogging for The Boston Herald. Add a fourth to that list, as the owner of a popular cupcake shop in Somerville has just joined the team.

According to her Facebook page, Sara Ross of Kickass Cupcakes on Highland Avenue is now writing for the Herald's Forklift blog. Her first post was published today, and the topic is making "cuptails" (cupcakes topped off with alcohol). A link to the article can be found below.

In November, Roger Berkowitz (Legal Sea Foods CEO/president), Lydia Shire (chef/co-owner of Scampo and culinary director at Towne Stove and Spirits), and Domingo-Martin Barreres (master mixologist at Market by Jean-Georges) also signed on to Forklift, joining other bloggers such as Kerry Byrne, Mary Ann Esposito, Sara Gaynes, and Laura Raposa.

Three folks who are a big part of the Boston restaurant scene are adding something new to their resumes; they becoming bloggers for one of the city's major newspapers.

According to The Boston Herald, Roger Berkowitz (Legal Sea Foods CEO/president), Lydia Shire (chef/co-owner of Scampo and culinary director at Towne Stove and Spirits), and Domingo-Martin Barreres (master mixologist at Market by Jean-Georges) are going to be writing for the paper's Forklift blog. The article states that Berkowitz will post behind-the-scenes articles about the restaurant industry along with some recipes, while Shire will also post recipes and Barreres will "share his award-winning secrets" on craft cocktails.

A New Restaurant Blog for Boston Diners

A new dining-based blog has come to the Boston restaurant scene, and the person who started it may have a familiar moniker to some. MC Slim JB is restaurant reviewer for a number of publications and also an active contributor to such sites as Chowhound and Yelp. The blog includes links to critiques and features from both the past and present, including reviews that are no longer available online.
