TofuStory Opens in Allston

A brand new Korean restaurant has come to Boston.

According to a source, TofuStory is now open in Allston, with an earlier What Now Boston article indicating that it has moved into the former Kao BBQ space on Harvard Avenue. The menu for the new dining spot includes such options as pan-fried dumplings, kimchi pancakes, tofu stew, bulgogi, short ribs, marinated crab, japchae noodle, bibimbop, and more--and the website mentions that their tofu is made daily in-house.

The address for TofuStory is 85 Harvard Avenue, Allston, MA, 02134. Its website can be found at https://www.tofustoryboston.com/

Kim's Tofu Opens in Allston, Replacing Loui Loui/Cap't Loui

A new Korean restaurant has come to Allston, opening in the space where a Southern-style seafood spot had been until recently closing.

According to an article in Eater Boston, Kim's Tofu is now open on Brighton Avenue, taking over the former Loui Loui/Cap't Loui spot which had once been home to Bravo Pizza as well. The post mentions that the new eatery features house-made tofu that is used in Korean tofu stew, while the menu also includes such items as spicy pork, seafood pancakes, rice, and more.

It appears that locations of Loui Loui/Cap't Loui in Stoneham and Braintree remain in operation, and the restaurants seem to go by both names, though they were originally called Loui Loui.

The address for Kim's Tofu is 160 Brighton Avenue, Allston, MA, 02134.

Kaju Is Opening in Boston's Kenmore Square

It looks like a pair of Korean restaurants in Allston and Cambridge may be joined by a third location.

According to a poster within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page, Kaju is planning to open in the former Thai Dish space under Fin's Sushi & Grill in Kenmore Square. A picture posted within the group page confirms that Kaju is indeed getting ready to open in the space, with the signs out front showing that the place is called "Kaju Gourmet Korean Food," which is a bit different from the name Kaju Tofu House, whose locations are on Harvard Avenue in Allston and JFK Street in Harvard Square.

The two Kaju Tofu House locations in Allston and Cambridge offer a variety of tofu soups along with Korean BBQ, udon and soba noodle dishes, sushi, and more.

The address for this new Korean restaurant in Kenmore Square is: Kaju, 636 Beacon Street, Boston, MA, 02215.
