Grezzo May Be Reopening in Boston's North End

While not a done deal by any means, there is a chance that a now-closed vegan restaurant in Boston's North End may be reopening, though with a slightly different theme.

According to Universal Hub, the owner of Grezzo on Prince Street is thinking of possibly opening the restaurant once again, though if it does reopen, it will focus on "natural food" rather than raw food. The article mentions that the owner of Grezzo is also considering selling the restaurant as a second option. The Boston Licensing Board is going to give her a month to decide on which option to take.

Grezzo first opened in early 2008, featuring vegan dishes such as seaweed salad, maki rolls, falafel wraps, and veggie burgers. A second location in Newburyport opened about a year ago, but closed this past spring when the North End location also shut down.

Harpers Ferry in Allston Is Closing; Brighton Music Hall to Take Its Place

A well-known nightclub in Allston that has featured live music for 40 years is getting ready to close its doors.

According to The Boston Herald, Harpers Ferry on Brighton Avenue has lost its lease and will be closing at the end of October, with Halloween being its last day in business. The Herald mentioned that over the past few months, the club had been working on trying to find a way to remain open but ultimately was unable to do so.

[October 13 update: According to the Boston Globe, the people behind The Paradise on Comm. Ave. are looking to open a new music club that will be called the Brighton Music Hall. The article says that if all goes as planned, the new club could be open by the middle of December. The Farm Downtown Opens in Beverly

A new restaurant has just opened in Beverly, and the people behind it are the owners of a similar dining spot a few miles away.

According to Boston.com, The Farm Downtown is now open on Rantoul Street (Route 1A), and it is a sister restaurant to The Farm Bar and Grille, an eatery on Route 22 in Essex that first opened in the spring of 2009. The article mentions that while The Farm Downtown does not have the live music or games that The Farm Bar and Grille has, its menu is similar, featuring American fare, BBQ, and seafood items. A few dishes included on The Farm Downtown's menu include BBQ nachos, clam chowder, burgers, a pulled smoked chicken sandwich, baby-back ribs, fish tacos, and fish and chips.

The Farm Downtown is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.

Six Burner in Boston's Back Bay Is Closing; Owners Opening Red Rock Grill and Bar in Upton

A Back Bay restaurant featuring classic American dishes is closing its doors, and the owners are opening a new restaurant in the Worcester area.

According to The Boston Herald, Six Burner on Dartmouth Street is shutting down, with a new dining spot from the people behind Common Ground in Allston and Coda in the South End taking over the space. [July 11, 2011 update: The new spot in the Back Bay will be called The Salty Pig.] The Herald mentions that the husband-and-wife team behind Six Burner, who also ran the now-closed Laurel on nearby Berkeley Street, are opening a new eatery on Main Street in Upton (a few miles southeast of Worcester) called the Red Rock Grill and Bar. [July 11, 2011 update: According to TheDailyGrafton.com, the Red Rock Grill and Bar is now open.]

Six Burner, which first opened around the beginning of the year, featured such comfort food dishes as chili nachos, Kobe beef hot dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches, lobster macaroni and cheese, and meat loaf.

Little Mary's Bagels Looking to Open in Arlington

It looks like a breakfast and lunch spot featuring bagels will be soon opening in Arlington.

According to the restaurant's website, Little Mary's Bagels is planning to open on Mass. Ave. across from Arlington High School sometime this fall (their Facebook page states that they are currently looking at a November opening). In addition to freshly baked bagels, Little Mary's will offer organic coffee, breakfast sandwiches, salads, deli-style sandwiches, and pastries. A blog entry within the Arlington Advocate mentions that Little Mary's will have seating for 18 people.

[December 1 update: According to posters on their Facebook page, it appears that construction has stopped on Little Mary's Bagels and that there is no longer a sign out front for the place. (A recent drive by the place has indeed confirmed this.) As soon as we find out if Little Mary's will indeed be opening in this space, we will post another update here.]

[May 31, 2011 update: It appears that Little Mary's Bagels will not be opening--at least not at 882B Massachusetts Avenue, where they had planned to open last fall--as a "For Rent" sign is now in the window of the space.]

OTTO Pizza Coming to Harvard Square in Cambridge

[Ed note: The name of this restaurant will be OTTO, not Enzo, as previously reported by us and others. Changes have been made as of 1/28/11.]

A pizza shop is on its way to the Harvard Square section of Cambridge, moving into the space where a location of a bagel chain has been.

According to the Cantabrigia blog, OTTO will be opening on Mass. Ave., taking over the Finagle A Bagel spot (a poster on Chowhound says that Finagle-A-Bagel appears to be closed now). The article mentions that OTTO is connected with the pizza shop of the same name in Portland, Maine, that features nearly 25 options for toppings. As is the case with OTTO in Portland, it looks like the new OTTO in Cambridge will be serving slices as well as whole pizzas.
