A burger spot that had a legendary mixologist behind its cocktail program has closed its doors.
According to a couple of sources, Best Burger Bar in Brookline Village is no longer in business, with the Station Street spot apparently closing over the past couple of days. The dining and drinking place was a casual burger bar that featured drinks created by Brother Cleve, a well-known local figure who was called "the Godfather of Boston's cocktail revival" by the eatery and who also played keyboards for the popular Boston rock band the Del Fuegos.
Best Burger Bar first opened in the summer of 2017, taking over the space where the Middle Gray had once been.

[December 6 update: The Boston Globe states that Best Burger Bar may be reopening under new management, with the place possibly opening its doors once again in a couple of weeks.]

100% Delicias Express in Roslindale Has Opened a New Location in Jamaica Plain

A Roslindale restaurant that features Dominican street food has expanded to Jamaica Plain.
According to an article from the Jamaica Plain News, 100% Delicias Express is now open on Centre Street, joining its original location on Hyde Park Avenue. The post says that the new shop resides in a small space with only a few tables set up, and that its menu includes rotisserie chicken, a variety of empanadas, grilled meat and seafood, pork mofongo, fried pork belly, cativia (yucca patties), and some breakfast items as well.
The address for this new Dominican restaurant in Jamaica Plain is: 100% Delicias Express, 660A Centre Street, Jamaica Plain, MA, 02130.

A cafe in Jamaica Plain that shut down a few years ago is open once again.
According to an article from Universal Hub, Caffe Aromi has reopened on Centre Street in the Hyde Square area with the post saying that it has "the same unusual backless chairs with air holes," though it is not yet known if the ownership remains the same along with its original menu. The Italian-style eatery first opened in 2012 and remained in operation until 2015.
The Hyde Jackson Square Main Street Facebook page had also mentioned the reopening of Caffe Aromi late last week.
The address for the reopened Caffe Aromi is 403 Centre Street, Jamaica Plain, MA, 02130.

A South Boston dining spot that focused on healthy food items has closed after less than a year in business.
According to a source, Shredded on W Broadway is no longer in business, with a Facebook post from the place confirming this, saying that "we, unfortunately, discovered there just wasn't the 'appetite' for our concept as we thought there would be....We hope to bring you a new concept in the near future! Now, on to the next adventure!" Shredded first opened in March, offering several different types of salads along with noodle bowls (including "build your own" bowls), soups, and seasonal items.
The address for this now-closed eatery in Southie was: Shredded, 246 W Broadway, South Boston, MA, 02127.

A popular spot in Cambridge for baked goods, coffee, and more is getting ready to shut down.
According to a source (Sarah Wu), Crema Cafe in Harvard Square is closing, with a Facebook post from the place indicating that the Brattle Street shop will be shutting its doors the week before Christmas. A reason was not given for the closure, nor is it known what might go into the space, so stay tuned for more updates as they come in.
Crema Cafe, which first opened in 2008, was known in part for its variety of croissants along with its other baked goods and pastry items, soups, salads, sandwiches, breakfast options, coffee, and tea.

The Tam in Boston's Theatre District Has Closed; Exact Status Unknown

Last summer, it was reported that an investor group had purchased several buildings in Boston, each of which was home to a bar, and now we have learned that another one of the bars has closed down--at least for now.
According to a source, The Tam in Boston's Theatre District has shuttered, with an Instagram post confirming that the Tremont Street watering hole indeed closed down last night. A Facebook post from the place includes a comment where The Tam says that "New people bought it they say it will be the same" but then goes on to say "We'll see." This appears to follow a pattern seen by the Beacon Hill Pub on Charles Street where that bar closed down in September and was possibly going to reopen in October with no changes other than ownership and apparently a new manager, but as of now, it remains closed.
According to an earlier article from Universal Hub, Greater Boston Bar Co. had purchased the buildings housing The Tam and the Beacon Hill Pub in July, along with Mary Ann's in Cleveland Circle. The Beacon Hill Times mentioned that Sullivan's Tap near North Station was apparently purchased by the same people as well, and we later reported that it looked like this was indeed the case based on an Open Corporates page and a hearing notice; Sullivan's Tap appears to be on the verge of changing ownership and possibly going through renovations, while an earlier report mentioned that Mary Ann's could be replaced by a cannabis dispensary, though this is not a done deal by any means.

[December 30 update: The Boston Globe reports that The Tam will reopen tomorrow, with no real changes expected to the place. (Sullivan's Tap near North Station will be reopening today as well, and will apparently have no major changes.)]
