Rosa Mexicano Is Opening at Seaport Place on the Boston Waterfront

Approximately six months after an upscale Mexican restaurant opened on the Boston waterfront, it looks like another high-end Mexican spot will be opening in the same general area.

According to The Boston Globe, Rosa Mexicano is planning to open in Seaport Place at the corner of Seaport Boulevard and B Street, joining three other dining spots in the development--Morton's, Aura, and Tamo. The restaurant, which will have about 8,000 square feet of space and a patio with views of the water, will also be a very short distance west of Temazcal Tequila Cantina, a Mexican dining spot that opened at Liberty Wharf in April. The Globe article mentions that Rosa Mexicano is part of a small chain of eateries with 13 other locations in the United States, with the restaurant's website showing branches of the place including three locations in New York City and one in Hackensack, NJ.

Expect Rosa Mexicano to open sometime in 2012.

[October 30 update: According to the Boston Magazine Chowder blog, Rosa Mexicano will be opening around April 1, 2012. The article also mentions that the outdoor patio will have a capacity of about 75, and prices will generally be in the "mid-to-high $20s."]

[May 8, 2012 update: According to their website, Rosa Mexicano will be opening its doors to the public tonight. (It will start serving lunch next Monday.)]

The address for this new Mexican restaurant on the waterfront is : Rosa Mexicano, 155 Seaport Boulevard, Boston, MA, 02210. The website can be found at http://rosamexicano.com/
