Giomatti Ristorante May Be Returning to Braintree

An old-school Italian restaurant in Braintree that closed its doors in the summer of 2008 might be returning to this southern suburb of Boston. According to The Braintree Forum and Wicked Local, Giomatti Ristorante and Bar received a liquor license earlier this winter and is apparently looking to move to Elm Street in Braintree Square. (Their previous location had been at 462 Quincy Avenue in East Braintree, near the Quincy line.]

When the restaurant was open in its old location, Giomatti was known mainly as a casual family-friendly neighborhood spot that featured Southern Italian fare at reasonable prices. The eatery served a variety of pasta, chicken, steak, seafood, and veal dishes, as well as pizza.

No opening date has been set for the new Giomatti; if and when the restaurant opens, we will post an update here. And if they do open, their address will be: Giomatti Ristorante and Bar, 1 Elm Street, Braintree, MA, 02184.
