A state senator who represents parts of the South Shore is going to be getting into the restaurant business soon, at least as an owner.
According to the Braintree Forum and Wicked Local, Senator Robert Hedlund (R-Weymouth) is planning on opening Four Square in Weymouth Landing, though he will not play an active role in the eatery. Four Square will move into the space along the Braintree section of Commercial Street (just north of the Weymouth border) where Helen's Cafe, a restaurant that featured steak tips, sandwiches, and pizza, had been for a number of decades. Four Square will feature Italian dishes, classic American cuisine, and comfort food (the restaurant's Facebook page mentions burgers, pizza, sandwiches, and seafood), with the 70-seat dining spot being open for lunch and dinner. A bar will also be located within the restaurant, with wine and craft beer available.
[February 16, 2011 update: According to the restaurant's Facebook page, Four Square is now open.]
The address for this new restaurant in Weymouth Landing is: Four Square, 16 Commercial Street, Braintree, MA, 02184.
