It looks like an Italian restaurant in the North End of Boston may be sold, and the new owner is apparently changing the name of the place, but only a little bit.
According to Universal Hub, Nico on Hanover Street is looking to be sold to Scott Dyer, who told the Boston Licensing Board that he is planning to change the name of the restaurant to Mico. Boston restaurateur Nick Varano first opened Nico in the fall of 2008, with the eatery being one of several spots owned by the owner of The Varano Group (other restaurants include Nick's Famous Deli in the North End, Strega Waterfront, and Strega North End).
It is not yet know what other changes, if any, may come to the restaurant once it becomes Mico.
The address for Nico (and the soon-to-be Mico) is 417 Hanover Street, Boston, MA, 02113.
[November 29 update: According to Boston-area food/drinks writer MC Slim JB (via Chowhound), an ad for "the new" Nico is being shown in The Improper Bostonian with a picture of Nick Varano in the ad, so it appears that the sale of Nico may have fallen through and that it will apparently remain "Nico" rather than "Mico."]
