Comella's Is Opening in Melrose

A local group of Italian food retailers and caterers continues to expand through the Boston area, with a new location coming to a northern suburb of the city.

The Melrose Free Press is reporting that Comella's is going to be opening in Melrose, with the eatery moving into a section of the TD Bank building on Main Street. It looks like the 22-seat dining spot could be open early this summer, depending on how construction goes.

[September 28 update: According to a Facebook post from the restaurant, the new Comella's in Melrose is now open.]

Comella's, which features such items as gnocchi, ravioli, chicken parmigiana, and other Italian dishes, can be found in a number of other communities in the local area, including Arlington, Belmont, Chestnut Hill, Concord, Marblehead, Natick, Needham, Wellesley, West Newton, and West Roxbury. [Ed note: According to a recent Twitter post, the Concord location on Walden Street has closed but will be reopening at a new location on Main Street around the end of the summer.]
