According to a tip from BostonZest, a site on Gloucester street that is advertised as a restaurant space is currently under construction; a check on the spot indicating (via a Boston Licensing Board PDF page from this spring) that it may be called Ambrosia on Gloucester, with Brian Lesser (Storyville, Tavern Road, Vine Brook Tavern, Bread and Butter, and other spots) being the possible owner. The page shows that the new eatery could have a dining room, bar, and outdoor patio, with proposed hours being 11:00 AM to 1:00 AM.
A long-closed restaurant called Ambrosia had once been located on Huntington Avenue in Boston, with that place shuttering about 10 years ago. It does not appear that there is any connection between the two places, though if we hear that there is--and as soon as we can confirm that the new restaurant will indeed be called Ambrosia on Gloucester--we will post an update here.
The address for this proposed dining spot in the Back Bay is 50 Gloucester Street, Boston, MA, 02115.
[September 10 update: According to a new post here, it now looks like Nantucket's Lola 41 is going to be moving into this space, so it is possible that Ambrosia on Gloucester either fell through or it could be opening elsewhere.]
