Milestone Restaurant in Wellesley Has Closed

Earlier this year, we reported that the person behind an Italian restaurant in Needham was planning to open a second dining spot in Wellesley where another eatery was located. Now we have learned that the restaurant it is replacing has officially closed.

An email sent last week indicated that Milestone on Central Street may have shuttered, with an article in The Swellesley Report subsequently confirming this. As mentioned in the earlier article, a new restaurant from Dave Becker of Sweet Basil in Needham is going to move into the space, with the dining spot being called Juniper and the cuisine leaning toward Eastern Mediterranean fare including Greek, Israeli, and Lebanese dishes. (It looks like Juniper could be opening within the next couple of months.)

Milestone first opened in 2009, offering mostly a mix of Greek, Italian, and Mediterranean items. Our sister site (Boston's Hidden Restaurants) featured it as an under-the-radar spot to check out, with a link to the review being below:
