SRV (a Venetian Bacaro) Is Opening in Boston's South End

A new restaurant is coming from the group behind three other dining spots in Boston, and this one will be an Italian place in the city's South End neighborhood.

Eater Boston is reporting that the Coda Restaurant Group is going to be opening SRV, a restaurant with 100+ seats and outdoor dining on Columbus Avenue by the Mass. Ave. intersection that is described as a "Venetian bacaro," or a traditional, casual bar serving "cicchetti" or small bites, with such items as polenta, risotto, and house-made pasta offered along with the small, shareable plates (craft beer, Italian wines, and cocktails will also be available). The article says that Kevin O'Donnell and Michael Lombardi of The Salty Pig in the Back Bay will be behind the upcoming eatery, along with James Cochener and Michael Moxley, who own and manage the Coda Restaurant Group.

[January 14, 2016 update: A Twitter post from Drew Starr as well as a recent press release sent out indicates that SRV opens to the public on Monday, January 18.]

[January 17, 2016 update: A Facebook post from the restaurant indicates that SRV "quietly" opened this evening, one day ahead of what the press release had said.]

The address for this new dining spot in the South End is: SRV, 569 Columbus Avenue, Boston, MA, 02118.
