hop + grind, Amigo's Mexican Kitchen and Tequila Bar Coming to The Promenade at Northshore Mall in Peabody

by Marc Hurwitz

It looks like more dining options are coming to a section of a suburban mall that is being renovated.

According to a press release, hop + grind and Amigo's Mexican Kitchen and Tequila Bar are both planning to open at The Promenade at Northshore Mall, joining The Bancroft, which has already opened, and Tony C's, which appears to be on the verge of opening. A Patch article mentions that the original hop + grind is a burger and craft beer bar in Durham, NH, that is a new concept from the team behind the Tuckaway Tavern & Butchery, an award-winning restaurant and meat market in Raymond, NH, while little is known about Amigo's Mexican Kitchen and Tequila Bar other than the fact that it will be a "traditional" Mexican restaurant.

A couple of years ago, it was reported that the Tuckaway Tavern & Butchery was looking to open somewhere along Route 1 in Saugus, possibly opening at the site of the old Hilltop Steak House, but those plans seemed to have fallen through. As reported earlier, the dining spot has received a number of awards since opening in 2012, including New Hampshire Magazine giving it best steak tips (2012), best new restaurant (2013), best butcher shop (2014-2016), best burger (2016), and best lobster roll (2016), according to a page on the restaurant's site.

If all goes as planned, both hop + grind and Amigo's Mexican Kitchen and Tequila Bar will open this fall at The Promenade at Northshore Mall.
