Red-Eyed Pig in West Roxbury Has Apparently Closed

by Marc Hurwitz

It appears that a restaurant featuring BBQ and Southern-style food has shut down.

According to a Facebook post from WGBH news anchor/host, the Red-Eyed Pig in West Roxbury has shuttered, with a 'For Rent' sign in the window and the lights being off this past Saturday night. The Centre Street eatery, which first opened in late 2011, offered such items as hush puppies, wings, brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, smoked pork belly, ribs, Cajun shrimp, macaroni and cheese, and Mississippi mud pie.

We had heard from a couple of sources a few months ago that the Red-Eyed Pig may have been on the verge of closing, but Santoro says that it was apparently open as late as last week.

The address for the now-closed Red-Eyed Pig was 1753 Centre Street, West Roxbury, MA, 02132.
