Mul's Diner Moves Into the Amrheins Space in South Boston

Last year, it was reported that one of Boston's classic old-school diners was facing an uncertain future because of possible new development on the way. Now we have learned that the eatery has moved across the street, joining another restaurant that is under the same ownership.

According to a source, Mul's Diner in South Boston is now housed in the Amrheins building on the other side of West Broadway, with a sign for the diner apparently being shown on the side of the structure along A Street. When we first reported that the old Mul's space could be demolished to make room for mixed-use development in April of 2019 (and again this past May), it was mentioned that the diner might look into the option to indeed move its breakfast operations across the street, and based on the Amrheins website, it looks like Mul's is offering both breakfast and lunch within the space.

Another story that was reported earlier is that the Amrheins building itself may be replaced by new development as well, as a sale of the property was under agreement as of the latter part of 2018 or early 2019.

Mul's Diner first opened its doors in 1955.

The address for Amrheins (and the new location of Mul's Diner) is 80 West Broadway, South Boston, MA, 02127. The website for both restaurants is at https://www.amrheinsboston.com/
