A popular family restaurant in Quincy that is known for its old-school comfort food dishes is shutting down permanently.
According to a source, Grumpy White's on Sea Street is closing for good, with a Facebook post from the Everything Quincy Facebook group page mentioning this as well. A call placed to the restaurant confirms this, with the person we talked to telling us that its last day will be Saturday, November 21. Grumpy White's has been known for its boneless fried chicken, stacks of grilled burgers, turkey dinner, chicken parmigiana, fish and chips, liver and onions, macaroni and cheese, steak tips, and more.
The address for Grumpy White's is 211 Sea Street, Quincy, MA, 02169. Its website can be found at http://www.grumpywhites.com/
[November 16 update: According to a source, it appears that Grumpy White's decided to close a week early, with a Facebook post from the place indicating that yesterday was its last day in operation. (This seems to jibe with a Patriot Ledger article that said the restaurant might close earlier than its planned closing date as well as posters within the Quincy Is Everything Facebook page who confirmed this as well.)]
