Coco Ramen Is Opening in Newton Centre

A new ramen shop is on its way to the western suburbs, and it appears to have a connection to a Thai restaurant next door.

According to a poster within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page, Coco Ramen is planning to open in Newton Centre, with a photo posted showing that it will be opening to the right of Coconut Newton on Beacon Street. An earlier licensing hearing notice within the city's website shows that the manager listed is Fonthip Suntornnut, who is one of the people behind Coconut Newton, while the poster in the group page says that the permit out front mentions something about a sushi bar, though it appears that Coco Ramen will focus at least in part on ramen.

The address for Coco Ramen is 757 Beacon Street, Newton, MA, 02459.

[September 24 update: A poster within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page says that Coco Ramen has soft-opened, with its menu showing steamed buns, fried oysters, deep-fried chicken, and a variety of ramen dishes (a Facebook post from the place confirms that it has indeed opened).]
