Eighth Annual Taste of Maynard Coming Sunday, March 7, 2010

The town of Maynard is going to be the site of an annual culinary event this coming weekend. According to The Beacon-Villager and Wicked Local, the 2010 Taste of Maynard benefit will be held on Sunday, March 4 at the Maynard Elks' Lodge on Powdermill Road (Route 62, between Maynard Center and the Acton line).

This will be the eighth Taste of Maynard, and for 2010 it will feature restaurants returning to the benefit (including the Blue Coyote Grille, Cast Iron Kitchen, and Willy's Philly's) as well as newcomers (including The Halfway Cafe, Maynard; JoJo's West, and the River Rock Grill). Proceeds from the event will be going to the Maynard Education Foundation.

Taste of Maynard will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with tickets to the event being $25 each if purchased beforehand, or $30 each at the event ($5 for children under the age of 12).

The devastating earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12 has resulted in countless people and businesses around the world trying to help the people of this Caribbean country, with donations of money, clothes, food, water, etc. And folks in the Boston area have indeed been actively helping out, with businesses--including restaurants--reaching out to the Haitian people.
