Fogo de Chao Churrascaria Is Opening at the Northshore Mall in Peabody

A chain of high-end Brazilian steakhouses with two locations in the Greater Boston area will be opening a third--and this will be its second suburban location.

According to an article from Mass Live (via a press release from globenewswire.com), Fogo de Chao Churrascaria plans to open at the Northshore Mall in Peabody sometime this year, joining other locations in Copley Square in Boston's Back Bay and at the Burlington Mall. Based on those and other locations of the chain, expect to see a variety of roasted meats as well as shareable plates, seafood, South American wines, cocktails, and more at the new outlet, which will include a large dining area that is centered around an open churrasco grill.

Fogo de Chao Is Opening at Westin Copley Place in Boston's Back Bay

Two months after first reporting on the possibility of its opening, it has now been confirmed that a Brazilian steakhouse chain is indeed coming to the Back Bay of Boston.

According to Adam's Hospitality & Tourism Industry Blog, Fogo de Chao will be opening at the Westin Copley Place, moving into the space where The Palm had been until closing at the beginning of the year. (The Palm is planning to open at One International Place in the Financial District possibly as early as this fall.) Once Fogo de Chao opens, the churrascaria will feature a salad and sides bar, along with tableside service where diners can choose from such fire-roasted meats as filet mignon, rib eye, sirloin, beef and pork ribs, pork loin, lamb, chicken, and sausage. Drinks (most likely including beer, wine, and spirits) and dessert options will be available as well.

Adam's article mentions that the Brazil-based Fogo de Chao, which currently has 18 branches in the United States, is expected to open either in late August or early September.

O'Fado in Peabody Closes; Top Steak House Opens in Its Space

A Portuguese restaurant in Peabody that closed several years ago, only to reopen a couple of years later, has closed once again and a Brazilian steakhouse has moved into its spot.

O'Fado, a restaurant on Walnut Street that had been replaced by a Greek spot called Akropolis in 2006 (and subsequently took over the space again in 2008), has been replaced by Top Steak House, a casual Brazilian eatery and watering hole that is open for lunch and dinner daily. In addition to an elegant-looking dining area, the restaurant also has a bar section that features live music.

Top Steak House is open from 11:00 AM to 12:30 AM seven days a week.
