Just Salad Opens at Cambridge Crossing in East Cambridge

A New York-based salad chain has opened another location in the local area, with this one coming to a growing development in East Cambridge.

According to a press release, Just Salad is now open at Cambridge Crossing, moving into a space near where Jacobs Street and N First Street meet. The new outlet joins others locally in Boston's Financial District and Fort Point along with Burlington and Needham, and it offers such options as salads, salad wraps, warm bowls, soups, and smoothies.

Just Salad was first established in 2006 with a location opening on Park Avenue in Manhattan.

YellowBird Chicken in West Roxbury Has Closed; Building Slated for Demolition to Make Room for Condos

A chicken spot in a Boston neighborhood has shut down, as its building is apparently going to be torn down.

According to an article from Universal Hub, YellowBird Chicken in West Roxbury is no longer in business, as owner Brian Martell put up a Facebook post saying that condo development is being planned for the site. The eatery was known for its comfort food items including wings, rotisserie chicken, tenders, and chicken sandwiches, along with burgers, fish cakes, and salads.

The address for the now-closed YellowBird Chicken was 239 Grove Street, West Roxbury, MA, 02132.

Suko Cafe Opens in North Reading

A new cafe has opened in the northern suburbs of Boston.

According to a poster within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page, Suko Cafe is now open in North Reading, moving into a space on Park Street on the eastern edge of the town center. A check on its website shows that the new eatery offers acai bowls, waffles, shakes, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, and it is open for breakfast, lunch, and (an early dinner) daily.

Estella in Boston's Downtown Crossing Is Expanding, Opening a New Location at Patriot Place in Foxboro

An upscale restaurant in the heart of Boston that focuses mainly on New American fare will soon be joined by a second location southwest of the city.

According to an Instagram post, Estella is planning to open at Patriot Place in Foxboro, with the post (which comes from the Patriot Place IG page) saying the following:

Patriot Place is excited to announce that @estellarestaurant is coming Summer 2025! With its flagship location in downtown Boston, Estella delivers an exceptional dining experience that fuses food from various backgrounds and cultures. Estella boasts a robust menu featuring diverse pasta selections, entrees, salads, soups, appetizers, a weekend brunch menu and delicious desserts, which guests will be able to enjoy this summer as this new dining establishment officially opens in the heart of Patriot Place!

Bombay Baking Co. in Woburn to Expand to Second Location in Framingham

A bakery in the northern suburbs of Boston is expanding to another space, with this one being west of the city.

According to a post within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page from Kiat Cormier of ChewOnThis, Bombay Baking Co. is planning to open in Framingham, with the upcoming location joining its original in Woburn. A What Now Boston article mentions that Koushik “Babu” Koganti of Flying Lion Hospitality Group is behind the business, while the Milford Daily News says that the upcoming shop will sell such options as flatbreads, wraps, kathi rolls, samosas, and savory pastry puffs, with the items being made in Woburn and brought over to Framingham.

Stone Hearth Pizza in Belmont Is Closing

What was once a small group of pizza spots will soon officially disappear from the local landscape.

According to an Instagram post from the business, Stone Hearth Pizza in Belmont has decided to shut down, with the note saying that "It is with heavy hearts that we announce the closing of Stone Hearth Pizza. Our last day of business will be June 30th." The Leonard Street shop is its original location (opening back in 2005), and it also happens to be its last location in operation, with outlets in Allston, Cambridge, Hingham, Needham, and Winchester all closing down over the years.
