Forum in Boston's Back Bay to Reopen This Summer

An upscale restaurant in the Back Bay that was heavily damaged in the Boston Marathon bombing--and is currently the only dining spot that has not yet reopened--is soon going be opening back up once again.

According to a Facebook post from the restaurant, Forum on Boylston Street is planning to reopen this summer, with "a new look, new feel, new chef and new menu." The new chef will be Matthew Barros, who most recently had been the Chef de Cuisine at Market by Jean-Georges at the W Hotel in downtown Boston, and before that, Myers + Chang in the South End. The post mentions that while Forum is being worked on, Barros will be hosting test dinners at the former Noche space on Appleton Street, with proceeds helping support The One Fund Boston.

[August 2 update: Eater Boston mentions that Forum will have a grand reopening on August 15.]

[August 2 update, #2: A bit of clarification on the last update--according to a post on the restaurant's Facebook page, Forum will be having a grand reopening party on August 15, with the place officially opening to the public on August 16. (Thanks to the Restaurant Hub blog of the Boston Globe for bringing this to our attention.)]

[August 14 update: According to a post from UrbanDaddy, Forum will now be called Forum Bar and Restaurant, with the upstairs undergoing some minor renovations while the downstairs has gone through extensive changes.]

The address for this soon-to-reopen restaurant in the Back Bay is: Forum, 755 Boylston Street, Boston, MA, 02116. Their website can be found at http://www.forumboston.com/
