Daisy Buchanan's Could Be Returning to Boston's Back Bay

Early last year, we mentioned that an iconic bar in Boston's Back Bay that had shut down in late 2014 could be returning, though there was no confirmation of this happening at the time. Now we have learned that this may indeed be happening after all.

Universal Hub is reporting that plans are being worked on to bring Daisy Buchanan's back to the neighborhood (apparently to its original home at the corner of Newbury and Fairfield streets), with owner Joe Cimino looking to reopen it as a smaller bistro-style spot with a limited menu. The post says that Cimino is hoping that the city will allow him to keep Daisy's liquor license as we works out the exact plans for the place, which attorney Stephen Miller says could be "some months away." The licensing board is expected to make a decision on Thursday, according to UH.

Daisy Buchanan's, which first opened in 1970, closed down in November of 2014 as its building was being slated for renovations that would apparently allow for high-end retail development. The building remains shuttered as renovations continue to be done.
