It looks like a new Italian eatery is on its way to Somerville, and the team behind a group of burger spots is also behind this place.
According to an article from Eater Boston, Mortadella Head is planning to open in Davis Square, moving into the space on College Avenue where Deli-icious had been until closing in February of this year. The article says that the new place will be a quick-service spot that offers pizza and sandwiches, and that Chuck Sillari and his Boston Burger Company team are opening the place, with Chris Alberti (Peasant in Waitsfield, VT) running it.
Currently, locations of Boston Burger Company can be found in Davis Square, between Cambridge's Harvard Square and Central Square, and in Boston's Back Bay--and a new one is also being planned for a space between Central Square and Kendall Square in Cambridge. [Ed note -- a new location in Salem is now open.]
The address for the new Mortadella Head is 20 College Avenue, Somerville, MA, 02144.
[October 15, 2018 update: Eater Boston mentions that Mortadella Head is now open, and it features rectangular slices of pizza as well as thinner-crust pizza, chicken wings, sandwiches, and more.]
