Monumental Market Opens in Jamaica Plain

A new bakery-cafe has come to Jamaica Plain, and it sells something that you typically don't find in bakery-cafes.

According to an article in Boston Magazine, Monumental Market is now open on South Street, taking over the space where Monumental Cupcakes had been until closing its doors in early 2019. As reported earlier, the new shop features coffee from Javier Amador-Peña's El Colombiano Coffee and baked goods from Kelsey Munger's Lavender Bee Baking Co., and while the store was also looking to offer ice cream as well, those plans fell through and the third part of the business focuses on the sale of new and used vinyl records via Chris Antonowich's Light of Day Records.

Monumental Market currently is open limited hours, with the plan being to fully open beginning on February 18; at that point, hours will be 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Tuesday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Fridays, and 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturdays.

The address for Monumental Market is 36 South Street, Jamaica Plain, MA, 02130. Its website can be found at http://monumentalmarket.com/
