Aeronaut Brewing Co. in Somerville to Expand to Down the Road Beer Co. Space in Everett

A Somerville brewery is expanding to Everett, taking over the space where another brewery had been.

According to an article from boston.com, Aeronaut Brewing Co. in Somerville is taking over the former Down the Road Beer Co. space in Everett, having already bought the brewing equipment from Down the Road while finalizing a lease for the Ashland Street facility earlier this year. The post mentions that the goal is to increase beermaking capacity so that Aeronaut can get more into the wholesale end of things while also experimenting with new beers as well. The new space--which will be called Aeronaut Cannery--hopes to debut an outdoor patio at some point this fall, though it is not known when (or if) an indoor taproom might get up and running.

Down the Road shut down last summer following the death of founder Donovan Bailey; there had been chatter about the brewery possibly returning but boston.com says there are currently no plans to do so right now.

Aeronaut can be found at 14 Tyler Street near Somerville's Union Square, while the upcoming Aeronaut Cannery will be at 199 Ashland Street between Encore Boston Harbor and the Mystic Valley Parkway.
