My Brother's Place in East Arlington Has Closed

A longtime pizzeria and sub shop in the northwestern suburbs of Boston has shut down.

According to a poster within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page, My Brother's Place in East Arlington is no longer in business, with a Facebook post from the Broadway restaurant saying that it was "due to challenges beyond our control." My Brother's Place first opened 24 years ago, offering soups, salads, pizza, calzones, pasta dishes, hot and cold subs, wraps, club sandwiches, grill items, and more.

The address for the now-closed My Brother's Place in East Arlington was 181 Broadway, Arlington, MA, 02474.

Olespana in Watertown Has Closed

A Spanish restaurant that opened a few miles west of Boston a year and a half ago has shut down.

A message sent by Leah Klein of City Living Boston mentions that Olespana in Watertown is no longer in business, with an Instagram post from the Mt. Auburn Street dining spot saying "Bye Bye. We closed for good. Thanks to everyone for your support." Olespana first opened in the former Mt. Auburn Grill space in June of 2023, offering tapas including such items as olives, spicy potatoes, grilled prawns, crispy sardines, pork ears, a baked brie plate, and more.

The address for the now-closed Olespana was 645 Mt. Auburn Street, Watertown, MA, 02472.

A&D Clam Box in Marblehead Has Closed, Is Looking for a New Space

A seafood place on the North Shore has shut down after being in business for approximately two years, though it hopes to reopen in a new location.

According to an X/Twitter post from @TobySyrel, A&D Clam Box in Marblehead is no longer in business as it has lost its lease, and this has been confirmed in an Instagram post from the Pleasant Street spot, saying that "The landlord doesn't want to extend the short term lease that we had. New location will be announced soon. Thank you all our customers for their support." A&D first opened in early 2023, offering such items as clam chowder, fried clams, lobster rolls, calamari, fish tacos, baked haddock, fish and chips, and more.

The address for A&D Clam Box was 195 Pleasant Street, Marblehead, MA, 01945; as soon as we hear of an address for the new location, we will post an update here.

La Colombe Has Apparently Closed Both of Its Locations in Boston

It looks like a Philadelphia-based group of coffee roasters and cafes has said farewell to Boston.

According to a source, both locations of La Colombe within the city are no longer in operation, with the website for the business seeming to confirm this, as the Leather District and Seaport District shops have been removed from the locations section of the site. La Colombe first opened its Atlantic Avenue outlet in 2016, with the Northern Avenue location debuting the following year.

Pollo 2Go Opens in Cambridge

A new takeout spot that focuses on chicken has opened in Cambridge.

According to an article from Cambridge Day, Pollo 2Go is now open on Harvard Street, moving into the former Izzy's space in The Port section of the city and being run by the people who are behind Pollo Lounge & Grill in Dorchester. Based on the article and the website for the business, the new eatery offers Latin American fare including grilled chicken, fried chicken, and rotisserie chicken along with such options as mofongo, trifongo, stewed beef, fried pork belly, ribs, pork shoulder, ham and cheese patties, sweet plantains, macaroni and cheese, and stewed pigeon beans.

Izzy's was a Puerto Rican restaurant that had been around for 40 years until it closed in 2022.

Rudy's Cafe in Somerville's Teele Square Is Closing

It looks like a longtime Tex-Mex restaurant in Somerville is shutting down.

According to multiple sources, Rudy's Cafe in Teele Square is closing its doors, with a Patch article seeming to confirm this, saying that January 19 will be its last day in operation according to management. The article says that management didn't give a reason for the closure of the Holland Street eatery, but said that it is indeed a permanent closure.

Rudy's, which first opened in 1982, has been known for such options as nachos, burritos, quesadillas, tacos, enchiladas, and chimichangas, along with a variety of margaritas.
