It looks like the people behind an ice cream sandwich truck and a brick-and-mortar shop are going to be opening another store.
According to a poster within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page, Frozen Hoagies is opening in Winchester Center, taking over the space on Main Street where Winchester Limited Jewelers had been. Once it opens, the new shop will join its other brick-and-mortar location by Powder House Circle in Somerville along with its food truck (which is set up at several locations in Boston), and based on the offerings at its store and truck, expect to see ice cream sandwiches made with a wide variety of cookies and ice cream flavors.
It is not yet known exactly when the new location of Frozen Hoagies will open, as the sign out front simply says "Coming Soon."
The address for this new ice cream sandwich place in Winchester Center is: Frozen Hoagies, 534 Main Street, Winchester, MA, 01890. The website for the business can be found at https://www.frozenhoagies.com/

Frozen Hoagies Is Opening a Brick-and-Mortar Shop in Somerville
The people behind a local ice cream sandwich truck are going to be doing what others in the food truck business have done of late--open a brick-and-mortar spot.
Eater Boston is reporting that Frozen Hoagies will soon be opening a permanent shop by Powder House Circle in Somerville (just north of Davis Square and just south of Tufts University), with the place offering ice cream sandwiches made using ice cream from Chilly Cow in Arlington and cookies that they make themselves. A post from the Davis Square Live Journal page indicates that the brick-and-mortar from Frozen Hoagies will be located in the Toni and Ana's Furniture space, which is at 864 Broadway.
No opening date has been given as of yet for the Frozen Hoagies shop; as soon as we find out when it might open, we will post an update here.
[November 18 update: A new article from Eater Boston mentions that the brick-and-mortar location of Frozen Hoagies opens on Friday (November 21).]

Ice Cream Truck Battle to Be Held Today (April 5, 2013) in Cambridge's Harvard Square
A couple of ice cream trucks are returning to the Harvard Square section of Cambridge later today to duke it out in a battle of treats--and to raise money for a good cause in the process.
According to a Twitter post from @BostonTweet, the Ben & Jerry's and b.good ice cream trucks will be handing out ice cream and shakes, respectively, on Dunster Street from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with the b.good Facebook page saying that all proceeds will go to the b.good Family Foundation, which helps people bring about positive change in their communities. The truck that raises the most money (via suggested donations) will win the title of the "greatest ice cream truck in Cambridge," according to the Facebook post.
The battle takes place outside b.good's Harvard Square shop, which is at 24 Dunster Street.

An "Adults-Only" Ice Cream Truck Is Coming to Boston on Sunday, July 15, 2012
An ice cream truck is coming to town this weekend, but this one will definitely not be for kids.
Grub Street Boston is reporting that DOVE will be setting up an "adults-only" ice cream truck at the Prudential Center in Boston's Back Bay this Sunday (July 15) starting at 11:30 AM. According to Grub Street (via a press release), the truck is designed to "help adults relive their childhood ice cream memories in a truly decadent, grown-up way," with frozen treats, massages (from a licensed massage therapist), and manicures being offered.
This seems to be the week of unusual ice cream events, as we reported yesterday that Uber will be featuring an on-demand ice cream delivery service for smartphone users tomorrow.

Ben and Jerry's to Give Bostonians Free Ice Cream from Their Scoop Truck
A Vermont company is going to be giving away free ice cream in Boston throughout the month of August.
An email from Cone indicates that Ben & Jerry's Scoop Truck will be driving around the city this month, handing out frozen treats to folks. The ice cream company, which is based in South Burlington (and has a factory in nearby Waterbury) is planning to have their truck tour Boston until August 28, visiting non-profit companies and going to community events while in the area. The truck will be using Twitter to help "guide" it to areas where ice cream lovers want it to be.
Flavors that will be available on the Scoop Truck include both new and old ones, with such options as Late Night Snack (inspired by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon) and Stephen Colbert's AmeriCone Dream (vanilla ice cream with fudge covered waffle cone pieces and a caramel swirl).
The Twitter page for the Ben & Jerry's ice cream truck can be found at the link below.
