Miam Miam Macaronerie Is Opening in South Boston

It looks like South Boston will be home to a macaron shop.

Eater Boston reports that Jennifer Lauren Turner, who owned the now-closed Blue Tierra Chocolate Cafe on West Broadway, is partnering with Nicole C. Raukohl to open Miam Miam Macaronerie at a location in Southie that has yet to be disclosed. The article says that while the shop is not yet open--and it is not known exactly when it will open--orders are being taken for those who wish to buy boxes of a dozen or more macarons for delivery in the Boston area (delivery of macarons will be expanding at some point, according to the website).

[November 12, 2015 update: According to a press release sent today, Miam Miam Macaronerie debuts its retail shop on Saturday, November 21 at 10:00 AM at 359 West Broadway, and they will be sharing the space with The Juice Box.]

Some of the flavors from Miam Miam Macaronerie include cherry, praline, apricot, lemon poppy, rose, bittersweet chocolate, and raspberry.

Parla to Replace Il Villaggio in Boston's North End

A new restaurant is coming to the North End of Boston, and it will be replacing another dining spot that closed last year.

According to a post in NorthEndWaterfront.com, Parla is getting ready to open on Hanover Street, moving into the space where Il Villaggio had been until shutting down for renovations. The article mentions that the "newly themed Italian restaurant" apparently has the same underlying ownership as its predecessor. It looks like Parla is on the verge of opening, as its website says it will open this month and NorthEndWaterfront.com states that a soft opening should be on the way over the coming days.

[April 10 update: UrbanDaddy states that Parla will officially open on Wednesday, April 16, with a soft opening on Monday and Tuesday. It looks like the new restaurant is apparently going to be a type of Italian speakeasy, with a "secret" food and drink menu that customers can only see by giving a password.]

It appears that Il Villaggio had been open on Hanover Street for nearly 10 years.

The address for this new Italian restaurant in the North End is: Parla, 230 Hanover Street, Boston, MA, 02113. Its website will be at http://www.parlaboston.com/
