A popular hot dog cart north of Boston has been joined by a second location that should be popular with sun worshipers.
According to its Facebook page, Fred's Franks in Wakefield is now selling its hot dogs and other food items on a pontoon boat that is set up at Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester, with one post stating that it is located to the left of the sandbar where other boats are tied off. The Facebook page for Fred's also says that the Gloucester location is only open on weekends and it is assumed that this will be a summer-only location, though an exact closing date does not seem to have been given as of yet. Based on the photos shown and the menu at the Wakefield location, the pontoon boat sells hot dogs, Shnurbles (which includes a hot dog, chourico, mayo, cabbage, and hot sauce), Italian sausages, burgers, drinks, and desserts.
The original Fred's Franks can be found at the northern edge of Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield near where Route 129 and Route 128 intersect. Its website is at http://fredsfranks.com/

Molly Moo's Ice Cream & Cafe in South Boston Moving from L Street to Carson Beach
An ice cream shop and cafe in South Boston is closing its current location, though it will be reopening in a beachside space.
Caught in Southie is reporting that Molly Moo's Ice Cream & Cafe is leaving its L Street location, with the plan being to reopen at Carson Beach. A tweet from @chipsy231 indicates that Molly Moo's is opening at the McCormack Bathhouse, which indicates that it may be taking over the concession stand that had been home to the Seaside Cafe.
It is not yet known when Molly Moo's might be leaving its current home, though it looks like the new location could be opening by June--and it will be featuring burgers, hot dogs, snacks, and ice cream, according to Caught in Southie.
The owner of Molly Moo's also runs Molly's Farmhouse Coffee on Preble Street in Andrew Square.

Neckrun Cafe Is Opening in Former Lime Rickey's Space in Marblehead
A new beachside dining spot is on its way to the North Shore, and it will be taking over the space where a popular snack shack had been.
According to a poster on the All Marblehead Happenings Facebook group page, Neckrun Cafe is opening soon at Devereux Beach in Marblehead, moving into the former Lime Rickey's space. The post says that the upcoming spot will offer breakfast, entertainment at night, and special events, and it also mentions that one of the owners of the place is the owner of Brothers Deli in Lynn. (A page on the Bizapedia site confirms that George Markos of Brothers Deli is indeed one of the people involved.) No opening date has been given for Neckrun Cafe as of yet, which is having a job fair on Saturday, April 22.
Lime Rickey's used to have two locations--one at Devereux Beach and another at the former Red Rock Bistro in Swampscott; both shops were beachside concession stands that featured burgers, hot dogs, fried seafood, ice cream, and--of course--lime rickeys.

Barefoot Bob's Beach Grill in Hull Has Closed
It looks like a beachside dining and drinking spot that included an outdoor tiki bar has shut its doors.
A check on the place a few days ago indicated that Barefoot Bob's Beach Grill on Nantasket Beach in Hull was locked up and dark, with a call placed to the Nantasket Avenue restaurant and bar indicating that its phone is out of service. Both Google and Yelp say that it has permanently closed, as well as a poster on a Groupon page (Groupon apparently returned the money to the poster), and its Facebook page is down as well. It is not yet known whether Barefoot Bob's could reopen--or what might be happening to the space--so stay tuned for updates.
Barefoot Bob's was featured on Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares in 2012, and it has also been reviewed by our sister site (Boston's Hidden Restaurants), with the review being found at the link below:

Christie's in Lynn Is Closing Today
A classic North Shore snack shack that has been in business for more than a century is shutting down for good.
The Daily Item is reporting that Christie's in Lynn closes its doors today, as owner George Dean has apparently decided to retire from the business. The article mentions that the Dean family posted an advertisement in Wednesday's edition of the paper saying they were indeed saying goodbye, adding that the Lynnway eatery had been "serving the public since 1903."
Christie's was a popular spot for beachgoers (Nahant Beach is across the street), offering such items as burgers, hot dogs, roast beef sandwiches, fried clams, fish sandwiches, milkshakes, and more over the years.
The address for Christie's is 17 Lynnway, Lynn, MA, 01902.
