Seasons 52 Is Opening in Burlington

Early last year, we reported that a chain of upscale restaurants and wine bars was planning to come to a northern suburb of Boston. Now it appears that the place will be opening very soon.

According to their website, Seasons 52 is going to open at Wayside Commons in Burlington on August 29. This will be the first location of the l-based chain, with another one slated for the upcoming Chestnut Hill Square in Newton sometime this fall. Once it opens, expect the new eatery to feature New American fare and seasonal dishes, with possible menu items being flatbreads, chipotle chicken skewers, lemongrass salmon salads, grilled boneless rainbow trout, lamb chops, turkey skewers, and filet mignon.

Copacabana in North Cambridge Being Replaced by Curry N Wok

[Ed note: This article was updated on September 23 to reflect a name given to the upcoming restaurant.]

It looks like a Latin American restaurant in North Cambridge is going to make way for an Indian dining spot, though few details are available at this time.

According to a note sent from Rich O's Ravings, Copacabana on Mass. Ave. is shuttered, with a sign out front saying that a place serving authentic Indian cuisine will be coming soon. This comes on the heels of a City of Cambridge License Commission General Hearing page mentioning a few weeks back that the manager of Copacabana applied for a common victualer license to be exercised at the same address, which could imply that the person behind Copacabana could possibly be behind the upcoming Indian restaurant as well, though this is speculation at this point. (As soon as we get more information, we will post an update here.)

Copacabana first opened in January of 2012, taking over the space where Garden of Eat-In Pizzeria had been, and before that, Good Food Cafe.

Annabelle's in Hyde Park Has Closed

It looks like a Hyde Park restaurant has closed its doors after being in business for just under three years.

According to a few sources (including followers on Twitter and a poster on the restaurant's Facebook page), Annabelle's on Hyde Park Avenue has apparently shuttered, with the Facebook poster saying that a sign on the window indicates the place has indeed closed. A phone call placed to the restaurant couldn't go through because the number's mailbox is full, though its website is still up and running. There is no other information on whether this dining spot has closed for good, so keep checking back for updates.

Annabelle's first opened in the fall of 2010, taking over the space where a location of C.F. Donovan's was slated to be (the plans fell through and the Dorchester location of the eatery eventually closed). The menu at Annabelle's mostly featured classic American dishes and comfort food items.

Chipotle Partnering with The Life is good Kids Foundation, August 11, 2013

A chain of quick-service Mexican restaurants is partnering with a group that helps kids this weekend, raising money for the foundation through sales in its New England stores.

On Sunday, August 11, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, whenever customers present the flyer from the link below (or show it on their smartphone) at any Chipotle Mexican Grill in New England, 50% of proceeds up to $30,000 will benefit the Life is good Kids Foundation, which helps kids overcome poverty, violence, and illness. In addition, Chipotle is holding a "Text 2Win" contest in conjunction with The Life is good Festival, which is being held September 21-22 in Canton.

Some 'Ting Nice Caribbean Restaurant to Open in Somerville

A new restaurant is coming to Somerville, and it will be featuring foods from the Caribbean.

Eater Boston is reporting that Some 'Ting Nice is planning to open on the McGrath Highway, with the dining spot featuring items such as cow heel soup, cassava pone, beef patties, curry goat, jerk pork, fried plantains, baccanal wings, salted fish, beef stew, oxtail, bread pudding, and tamarind juice. It looks like the restaurant will also offer catering services, and valet parking will be available.

Some 'Ting Nice is planning to open on August 15, according to EB.

[August 13 update: It appears that the planned opening of Some 'Ting Nice may not be August 15 after all, as the restaurant says (via a Facebook post) that "We have a slight delay in our Grand opening as we need to coordinate with the city of Somerville to to ribbon cutting etc."]

[October 15 update: A new article from Eater Boston states that Some 'Ting Nice will open this Friday (October 18).]
