Buffalo Bo's Reopens as a Food Truck

Boston now has a food truck that features chicken wings, and the name of the truck may be a familiar one to some.

According to the West Roxbury Transcript and Wicked Local, Buffalo Bo's has reopened as a food truck after having two different bricks-and-mortar locations in Roslindale, both of which are now closed. The article mentions that the owner of Buffalo Bo's decided to set up a food truck after being forced to close his Hyde Park Avenue and Washington Street restaurants due to high rents. The truck moves around to stations in Roslindale, Jamaica Plain, and West Roxbury, including American Legion Market and Liquors on the American Legion Highway and T&S Auto Body on Hyde Park Avenue, according to the article.

In addition to wings (including boneless wings), Buffalo Bo's features such items as ribs, steak tips, burgers, hot dogs, and chili.

2010 Greek Festival to Be Held in Somerville September 10-12

A festival featuring Greek food and music is coming to Somerville this weekend, with a variety of Greek dishes being offered at the event. The 2010 Greek Festival will take place at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church on Central Street on Friday, September 10 through Sunday, September 12, with hours being 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM on Friday, 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM on Saturday, and 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Sunday.

Some of the foods that will be served at the Greek festival include gyros, moussaka, pastichio, roast lamb, and souvlaki, with desserts including baklava, loukoumades, and more. Continuous music will be played at the festival, with live music featured at night.

Admission to the festival is free, and there will be free parking as well.

St. Alphonzo's Kitchen in South Boston Has Closed

An eclectic restaurant in South Boston that was located in an out-of-the-way spot just north of the Broadway T stop has closed its doors.

An email sent to us by one of our viewers this week mentioned that St. Alphonzo's Kitchen on A Street has shut down. A check on the restaurant this evening has confirmed this, as a sign in the window indicates that it is no longer in business.

St. Alphonzo's Kitchen started out as Potbellies Kitchen in 2006, eventually changing its name the following year. The restaurant featured a diverse mix of dishes, including pasta, haddock, reuben sandwiches, baked scrod, chicken cutlets, Cubanos, and grilled cheese sandwiches. The Lobster Stop Has Opened in Quincy

A new place that sells lobsters (and soon, other foods) has opened near the site of the former shipyard in Quincy.

According to their Facebook page, The Lobster Stop is now open for business on Washington Street (Route 3A), and it will be concentrating on lobsters for now, though they do mention that there will be other types of food available, possibly by the middle of October. The Lobster Stop sells both soft shell and hard shell lobsters, as well as larger lobsters (more than 2.5 pounds).

The Lobster Stop's Facebook page mentions that it is open for lunch and dinner.

Bouchee in the Back Bay Closes; Papa Razzi Moving Into Its Space

The culinary version of the musical chairs game continues in the Back Bay of Boston, as a French restaurant on Newbury Street has closed, and a small local chain of Italian eateries is moving its original restaurant into the space.

According to the now-closed restaurant's website, Bouchee has shut its doors on Newbury (between Dartmouth and Exeter Streets) after about four years in business, and Papa Razzi will soon be opening in the space. (Papa Razzi's original location at the corner of Newbury and Dartmouth Streets will become home to a Mexican restaurant called Lolita Cocina & Tequila Bar.) The Grub Street Boston site mentions that Bouchee may be looking at reopening in a new space in the Back Bay, though nothing specific has been confirmed yet.

The closing of Bouchee, moving of Papa Razzi, and opening of Lolita Cocina & Tequila Bar are not the only changes occurring in the Back Bay; Met Back Bay will be moving into the former Joe's American Bar and Grill space at Newbury and Dartmouth Streets, as Joe's has moved to the corner of Newbury and Exeter Streets, in the space formerly occupied by TGI Friday's.

[September 9 update: According to boston.com, the original Papa Razzi on Dartmouth Street will close on September 16; its new location on Newbury Street will open on September 20.]
